When Anastasia’s husband died she became the single parent of one child. Soon after, she took into her care two more young orphans. Anastasia’s house was cold, wet, and structurally unsafe for the family of four.
In situations like Anastasia’s, the Umoja Project has constructed new semi-permanent homes. For less than $1000 Anastasia and her children have a new home with a tin roof that will last 7-10 years. Whenever possible the Umoja Project hires guardians enrolled in the Project as masons for its housing projects – thereby increasing our impact on the community by providing income opportunities for families in need.
Families without adequate bedding receive blankets and other necessary household goods.
