In its first six years, Kenya Carnival/STEP UP has raised more than $150,000. We have provided high school education to 500 students and have 100 high school graduates. These bright, ambitious students overcome seemingly insurmountable odds to succeed in school. Want to join the fun? Contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition to changing the date of the event to winter, organizers are encouraging groups of students to create games and activities for Kenya Carnival. Of course, many inflatables and other favorites will be part of the carnival.
In the past about one third of the Kenya Carnival proceeds are from the actual event. Moving the event to later in the school year allows students and groups to hold fundraisers during the first semester of the school year. Many creative fundraisers have been suggested for the holidays, including bake sales, babysitting sessions and craft sales.
We are encouraging congregations, school groups, families and groups of friends to consider how many students they can send to school for $350 each.
How can you STEP UP
